 All my future fears rushed into the present.  Chris is dead, Chris is dead.  These three words ricocheted in my head and although I heard the words, although I expected it, I still couldn’t comprehend what was going on.  It felt like all the air had been sucked out of the room.  I just stared at Cathy in disbelief.  For some reason, tears just wouldn’t come."
